Blackberry Users Section

This section is for Blackberry users who have trouble reading the normal sitrep on their Blackberries.  It only contains new or significantly updated items from the DHS&EM Daily Situation Report.
(Significant changes from previous reports are in red)

• Significant Weather:
The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for the following areas:
• The Chistochina River at Chistochina until 4:00 PM Friday
• The Kuskokwim River at Kalskag and Lower Kalskag through Friday afternoon.
• The Yukon River from below Eagle to Fort Yukon until 4:00 PM Saturday.
• The Yukon River at Ruby until 11:45 AM Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued flood watches for ice jam flooding for the following areas:
• The Kuskokwim River Near Akiak, Akiachak And Kwethluk through Friday afternoon.
• The Yukon River from Fort Yukon to the Yukon River Bridge through 4:00 Pm Saturday.
• The Black River at Chalkyitsik through 4:00 PM Saturday
• The Yukon River from Eagle to Circle through 4 pm Saturday.
• The Buckland River at Buckland through Saturday afternoon.
• The Kobuk River near Kobuk through Saturday afternoon.


Community Assistance and Monitored Events
• Ice Jam Flooding
At this time, the following communities have been reported to have flooded or are currently flooding due to ice jams:
        • 4/28 – Salcha
        • 5/4 – Crooked Creek, Red Devil, Sleepmute, Eagle/Eagle Village, Aniak, Napaimiut and the Alaska Railroad north of Talkeetna.
        • 5/5 – North Pole (at the steamboat landing), Kobuk
        • 5/6 – Chalkyitsik, Chistochina, Ft. Yukon, Upper and Lower Kalskag
        • 5/7 – Circle, Ruby
