Tanana Basin Flooding
The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management’s State Disaster Assistance Program remains open for individuals and families in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, City of Nenana, the Denali Borough, the North Slope Borough including the village of Wainwright, the City of Kaktovik and Yukon-Koyukuk REAA, who sustained damages to their primary residence, personal property, and transportation during the July/August 2008 flooding event.

To apply, call toll free, 1-800-921-3682, Monday through Friday, 9am – 6pm. The deadline to apply for State Disaster Assistance is 3 October 2008. (Note:  The hotline answering machine will be available 24/7. Messages left on the answering machine will be answered on the next working day.)

The Joint State/FEMA Preliminary Damage Assessment teams that were deployed this week to assess disaster impacts in Fairbanks North Star Borough, City of Nenana, the North Slope Borough and the Denali Borough area are expected back in Anchorage today.
