Threat Level Changes
Threat level is changed to Level 2 due to Okmok Volcano eruption.

Alaska Volcano Observatory
Okmok Volcano: As of Wednesday, July 16, 2008 10:46 AM AKDT
Current Aviation Color Code: Red
Current Volcano Alert Level: Warning
Okmok Volcano continues to erupt. Over the last 24 hours, activity at Okmok has diminished. Seismicity has changed from nearly continuous volcanic tremor to a more episodic character, and over the last several hours, the overall seismic intensity has declined. The most recent satellite imagery indicates little or no ash, however weather clouds may be obscuring an ash signal.

SECC continues to monitor this event.

Ashfall Advisory
The National Weather Service of Anchorage continues the ashfall advisory for the Eastern Aleutians including Unalaska and Nikolski.
The ashfall advisory is now in effect until midnight AKDT tonight. Okmok volcano located about 75 miles southwest of Dutch Harbor erupted around noon Saturday July 12. According to the Alaska Volcano Observatory, eruptive activity at Okmok has diminished over the last 24 hours. However, light ashfall remains a threat for Umnak and Unalaska Islands including Dutch Harbor.
