Rural Alaska Fuel Shortages
DHS&EM Operations continues to closely monitor potential life safety concerns resulting from fuel shortages at several coastal communities including Nikolski, Karluk, Nunam Iqua and more recently St George.  DHS&EM is working with state, federal, and local representatives to find alternative fuel delivery options and supplemental funding sources for the communities that have yet to receive their bulk fuel deliveries.  The deliveries of fuel have been hampered by poor weather, sea conditions, and other factors.
