(Updates to this section from previous Situation Report are in Italics.)

Threat Level Changes
No change.

Flood Warning
The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a flood warning due to a glacial lake outburst for the Taku River until 1215 pm AKDT Thursday. At 1222 pm AKDT, the Taku River continues to rise toward flood stage. The rate of rise of the river level indicates that the river will reach flood stage around 1 am Wednesday morning. At this time the river is forecasted to crest later Wednesday morning and remain at a high level and flow into Thursday.

Water temperatures remain in the upper 30s which further supports that a glacier dam has released. The very cold water with high levels and strong flow have created very hazardous conditions. Expect debris in the form of ice chunks and logs to also be a hazard. Persons with property along the river should use extreme caution during preparations for this flood.

Ashfall Advisory
The National Weather Service of Anchorage has issued an ashfall advisory for the Eastern Aleutians including Unalaska and Nikolski. The ashfall advisory is now in effect until 12 pm AKDT Wednesday for Umnak Island. Okmok volcano remains active and continues to emit ash. Winds in the area are weak so ash will be confined to Umnak Island.

Travel Advisory
The Parks Highway MP174-184 has re-opened and traffic is moving through on both lanes.  Motorists are advised to use caution through the area.
