President Bush announced Tuesday that he would ask Congress for $7.1 billion in emergency funding to prepare the country for a possible flu pandemic. In a speech at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, Bush said that there had not been an outbreak in the United States or the rest of the world, but stressed that health officials must be ready. International Situation
Police in Denmark believe the arrests of two more terrorism suspects foiled a plot that may be linked to recent arrests in Bosnia. Danish police are releasing few details except to say six people have been arrested in Copenhagen on conspiracy charges on a tip from Bosnian police, the BBC reported. Hearings were held in private. At least three suspects were arrested in Sarajevo where police found suicide bomber vests, The Copenhagen Post reports. More...
