Blizzard Warning
The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a blizzard warning for St Lawrence Island and Bering Strait Coast.  A blizzard warning remains in effect from 9 pm this evening to 6 am Thursday.  East winds will increase to 40 mph this evening with frequent gusts to 60 mph by midnight.  Strong winds combined with falling snow after midnight will produce near zero visibilities in blizzard conditions.  Conditions will be most dangerous on Saint Lawrence Island.  Little relief is expected through the week as wind speeds will remain strong and the blizzard danger will persist through Thursday morning at least.
