DHS&EM is finalizing a fact sheet describing the storm damages with recommendations for the Governor's Disaster Policy Cabinet consideration on 20 December, for the southeast communities impacted by the November 2005 storm event.
The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a high wind warning in effect through 5 am Friday morning for the Turnagain Arm and higher elevations. A low pressure center will bring dangerous winds to Turnagain Arm and higher elevations this afternoon and tonight. Southeast winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts to 80 mph will gradually diminish after 5 am Friday morning.
