State of Alaska Situation
Winter Storm Warnings
The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings for the following areas:
- Denali including Healy, Denali National Park, Carlo Creek and Kantishna – until 5am Wednesday
- Eastern Alaska Range including Mentasta Lake, Black Rapids, Donnelly Dome, Trims Camp, Eagle Trail and Mineral Lake – until 5am Wednesday
- Northeast Prince William Sound including Valdez and Thompson Pass – for today and tonight
High Wind Warnings
The National Weather Service has issued high wind warnings for the following areas:
- Southeast Prince William Sound – for the Copper River Delta through Wednesday morning
- Kodiak Island including Kodiak city – through early this evening
- Cape Fairweather to Cape Suckling Coastal Area including Yakutat – through Wednesday afternoon
Blizzard Warning
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for this afternoon through Wednesday for Taiya Inlet and the Klondike Highway near White Pass.
Heavy Snow Warning
The National Weather Service has issued a heavy snow warning through this morning for Haines Borough and Lynn Canal including Haines.

Students of Osama bin Laden at the CIA got more homework Monday. Another tape thought to be from the terrorist leader, this one urging a boycott of Iraqi elections, was the sixth audio or videotape from Bin Laden since September.
